The centering mechanism (12) consists of a support for the wheel and at least three radially-adjustable positioning elements (82), each having two keys with pointed tips that press against the sides of the wheel's teeth or are moved away from the teeth by a control unit (32). Each positioning element has an arm with an upper (88) and lower (84) portion, connected by an angled portion (86), and is able to pivot by its lower portion about a horizontal axis. The control unit has a cylindrical tube able to move parallel to the mechanism's reference axis (A-A') and at least one portion with an inner surface that co-operates with the arms and lies concentrically with that axis. |
