The device has an elongated body made of flexible foam precursor material, and support units to support the body inside a hollow unit of a motor vehicle. The support units have two transversal partitions (3a, 3b) associated to the extreme parts of the body. The partitions are arranged to support the body at a distance from the hollow unit and to define a closed filling volume inside the volume of the hollow unit. Each partition is equipped with units (4a, 4b) for association with the hollow unit.
