PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid container which eliminates the risk of causing damage when inserted into a container mounting part, which is excellent in operability when mounted on the container mounting part, which can be accurately and firmly positioned in the container mounting part, and which enables the downsizing of the container mounting part. SOLUTION: This ink cartridge 1 is mounted on a cartridge mounting part 3 on the side of equipment; an ink supply hole 17 is provided almost in the center of a protrusion 15 which is provided to the side of one end of the bottom surface 1a of the ink cartridge 1 and fitted into a positioning recess 11 on the side of the mounting part 3; and all of three recessed surfaces 21, 22 and 23, which form one corner part on the side of the other end of the bottom surface 1a and which are brought into contact with positioning walls 9a, 9b and 9c provided on the mounting part 3, are formed in such a shape as to be recessed with respect to approximately rectangular parallelepiped-shaped reference surfaces (the bottom surface 1a, a side surface 1c and a side end surface 1d) which constitute an outer shape of the ink cartridge 1.
