PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of preventing a conveying accuracy from being deteriorated while suppressing production cost. SOLUTION: This image forming device 1 is so formed that the surface of a lift plate 24 for placing a recording medium 22 thereon comprises a downward inclination extending to a conveying belt 31. In a conveying start state where the recording medium 22 is held by the conveying belt 31 and a nip roller 33 to be formed in a linear shape while abutting on the pickup roller 21, a clearance is formed between the recording medium 22 and a forward side wall 251 to prevent a tension from applying to the recording medium 22 in a direction reverse to the conveying direction. As a result, since a lifting function can be eliminated, the conveying accuracy can be prevented from being deteriorated by the tension in the direction reverse to the conveying direction while suppressing an increase in production cost.
