PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic type gas meter which can hardly use gas freely without admittance and has high security effects. SOLUTION: The electronic gas meter has a battery 12 for a power source, measures flow rate of gas passing a gas tube 14 using a flow rate sensor 6 and comprises an electromagnetic isolation valve 10 for isolating the gas tube 14 in abnormality. The gas meter contains a capacitor 11 chargeable with the battery 12, a power source supply termination detecting means 1A for detecting power source supply termination by the battery 12, and an isolation valve control means 1B for making the electromagnetic isolation valve 10 from an open state to closed state as a power source replacing the capacitor 11 with the battery 12 when the power source supply termination is detected.
