An oil soluble additive concentrate is produced by providing a lubricant base oil fraction having a viscosity of 1-3.5 cSt at 100[deg]C and a Noack volatility of less than a Noack Volatility Factor calculated by Noack Volatility Factor which is equal to 160-40 (kinematic viscosity at 100[deg]C); blending the lubricant base oil fraction with >=2 wt.% lubricant additives; and isolating an oil soluble additive concentrate. The lubricant base oil fraction comprises greater than 3 wt.% molecules with cycloparaffinic functionality and less than 0.3 wt.% aromatics; : An independent claim is also included for a process for producing a finished lubricant comprising: (A) providing a lubricant base oil fraction; blending the lubricant base oil fraction with lubricant additives to provide an oil soluble additive concentrate; and blending the oil soluble additive concentrate with lubricant base oils. |
