<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of forming an image on the basis of image forming data resulting from compressing image data with high image quality. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus for receiving the image forming data including a command with compression form information and compressed image data 54, decompresses the compressed image data on the basis of the compression form information, and forming an image depending on the decompressed reproduction image data, includes: a command analysis means for analyzing first number of bit information D8/16 of the command with respect to the number of bits of the original image data; a decompression unit for decompressing the compressed image data on the basis of the compression form information to generate the reproduction image data; and a binary processing means for converting the reproduction image data into binary data corresponding to the pixels, and the decompression unit outputs the reproduction image data in the number of bits corresponding to the first number of bit information D8/16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
