In a recording medium (100), a first recording layer (L0) for recording data in one direction and a second recording layer (L1) for recording data in other direction are stacked. The recording medium is provided with a recording means (11) for recording data by applying an optical beam (B) to be collected on the first recoding layer or the second recording layer; a diffracting means (12) for generating a main beam and a sub-beam by diffracting the optical beam; an adding means (42) for adding an offset signal to a tracking signal generated by the reflecting light of the main beam and the sub-beam corresponding to the data recording direction; and a tracking means (44) for performing tracking process based on a tracking signal to which the offset signal is added.
