<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil capable of reducing a diameter and improving a heat radiation property of a primary coil as well as capable of forming a primary coil having no flaw on a primary wiring and easily wound. <P>SOLUTION: The ignition coil 1 having the primary coil 2 and a secondary coil 3 concentrically wound, and a plug mounting part 111 for mounting a spark plug, is insertion arranged in a plug hole of an engine case. The primary coil 2 comprises a primary wire 22 having rectangular cross section with round parts 231 at four corners 23 wound in a plurality number of windings to an axial direction L. When a width in an axial direction and a thickness in a diametric direction of the round part 231 are assumed as w, h, and a width in an axial direction and a thickness in a diametric direction of the primary wire 22 are asumed as W, H, there are relationships of W/10≤w≤W/3 and H/10≤h≤H/3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
