The forming of double-curvature laminated composite sheets has uniaxial bending of one layer of the laminate on a tool leaving a border which slides between two forming plates which then fold the bent layer via the tool. The upper plate is spaced relative to the vertical surface of the tool to the extent of the size of the bent layer.
