PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital CATV transmission reception system in which even a user can execute reception settings of a digital CATV reception means in a simple fashion. SOLUTION: When the digital CATV reception means is installed, an operation parameter acquisition section 110 of the digital CATV reception means is connected with an operation parameter server 112 in a digital CATV transmission means or the like via a 2-way communication network and acquires reception parameters corresponding to operations of the digital CATV transmission means and stores the reception parameters into a nonvolatile memory 109 to complete the reception settings.
