PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric device having satisfactory vibration characteristics and a low height by precisely joining a lid body to a package, and by increasing the junction strength between the lid body and the package. SOLUTION: The piezoelectric device comprises the package 30 having recessed spaces S1, S2 in a horizontal direction, and a piezoelectric oscillating piece 20 stored in the recessed space S1. In the package 30, the lid body 32 is joined to an opening end face in the recessed space S1 by using a fused jointing material 34, and a through hole 37 is provided which allows the recessed space S1 to communicate with the outside space. In a region in which the recessed space S2 is provided, the lid body 32 is joined to the entire periphery surrounding the region by using the fused jointing material 34, and a small opening 55 is provided so that an encircling space S3 surrounded by the jointing material 34 provided on the entire periphery communicates with other spaces.
