<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method and a network system by which the shortening of switching time and the maintenance of performance of a network due to movement can be realized without requiring a specific program for a mobile terminal. <P>SOLUTION: The mobile terminal 2 is moved to the communication area of an access point 6.2 and wirelessly connected. The access point 6.2 receives the generation of wireless connection, detects the movement of the mobile terminal 2 to the communication area, and acquires an IP address from a MAC address of the mobile terminal 2 which is obtained by wireless connection processing. When the connection destination of the mobile terminal 2 is an external network, the access point 6.2 forms an IP tunnel with a home agent 8. The home agent 8 receives data to the mobile terminal 2 by proxy, and transfers the received data to the access point 6.2.
