The grommet has two identical units (3, 5) with adjacent edges having male and female sections (9, 11) permitting the assembly of the units to form an open container of size adapted to be inserted and maintained in a hole in a surface of a panel. Each unit has lateral edges with openings (15) permitting to pass a wire, once the units are assembled. A cap (17), fittable into the units, closes the container once the units are assembled. Each of the units (3, 5) comprises of an upper rim (13) which projects outwardly in order to fit onto the edges of the hole of the panel into which the wire grommet is to be positioned. |
