This invention relates to a lockable turntable, preferably for auto chairs, which enables the chair/seat to rotate relative to the underframe around a vertical axis. The invention comprises a locking device, where the application of two or more self-adjusting, wedge-shaped locking pawls and corresponding locking points has the effect that the turntable is free of wobble, and enables the height of the turntable to be reduced while retaining its strength.
