Shaping a flat strip, e.g. of metal, into a tube Process esp. concerns the production of a pipe that is seam-welded along its length from a strip during its movement in a longitudinal direction. The strip is first bent along the centre of its width and the two edge sections are then provided with the curvature of the finished profile or of the finished pipe. The central section is subsequently brought in the opposite direction to the desired curvature while keeping the curvatures of the edge sections the same. |
