PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control unit capable of efficiently using corner information stored in a database without producing congestion of communication traffic, and performing vehicle control with a reduced processing load based on the above corner information. SOLUTION: The vehicle control unit includes a database 22 retaining the corner information in regard to a plurality of corners, including the curvature radius of each corner; when the curvature radius of a corner located ahead of the vehicle running direction is a predetermined value or less, an information selection supply means 20 for supplying the corner information in regard to the corner of interest from the database to a vehicle control means; and the vehicle control means 10 for controlling vehicle movement based on the corner information supplied from the information selection supply means.
