<p>An inter-vertebral disc prosthesis includes a stacked array of spaced elements, adjacent elements being attached to and separated from one another by at least one spacer. The invention extends to an inter-vertebral disc prosthesis characterized in that the prosthesis generates a reactive force generally opposed to and bearing a predetermined relationship with an axial compressive force applied to the prosthesis.</p> |
