PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound absorber which is excellently lightweight and has high rigidity, and suitable for a hood silencer and a dash silencer in the engine room of an automobile. SOLUTION: The sound absorber comprises polyurethane foam 11, a surface material 21 laminated on one side of the polyurethane foam, and thermosetting resin containing felt 31 laminated on the surface of the polyurethane foam 11 on the opposite side from the surface material 12; and the polyurethane foam 11 and surface material 21 are bonded with an adhesive previously stuck on the surface material 11 and the polyurethane foam 11 and thermosetting resin containing felt 31 are bonded with thermosetting resin contained in the thermosetting resin containing felt 31. Further, the surface material 22 is preferably laminated and bonded to the surface of the thermosetting resin containing felt 31 on the opposite side from the polyurethane foam 11.
