<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus of a small type, with which an image can be formed right after a developing device or a process cartridge is attached to the main body of the image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes the developing device, a developer supply means, and a developer supply control means. The developing device has a development container and a developer face detecting means.
