PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for enabling analyzing a number of data streams to be collected at an arbitrary point of a network. SOLUTION: One or more transmission messages is collected as transmitted over the network according to a predetermined protocol. The one or more collected messages are supplied to a state machine. A behavior (in one embodiment, an expected state) to be expected for the one or more collected transmission messages can be acquired by utilizing the state machine. The one or more collected transmission messages are compared with the expected behavior, and if a comparison result shows that the message deviates from the expected behavior, a notification is made.
