PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscopic apparatus capable of quantitatively observing the conditions of a lesion regardless of the distance between an excited light irradiation part and a subject to be examined and giving a correct diagnosis. SOLUTION: This endoscopic apparatus 1 is equipped with a laser light source 25 generating an excited light, a scope 3 of the endoscope apparatus 1 having an irradiation part 53 of the excited light on the apical end 45, an intensifier built-in CCD (charge coupled device) 73 to detect the fluorescence generated at the subject 47 to be examined with the excited light, a fluorescence imaging mean 85 generating the fluorescent image signal S5 from a fluorescent signal S2 sent from the intensifier built-in CCD73, a distance determining mean 81 determining the distance signal S3 corresponding to the distance between the irradiation part 53 and the subject 47, and a fluorescence calculating mean 83 to determine the amount of fluorescence without influence of fluctuation of distance by correcting the fluorescent signal S2 with the distance signal S3.
