PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reciprocative power tool which is further improved in power transmission mechanism for converting rotational output of a drive motor into a linear motion in a major axial direction of a tool bit. SOLUTION: The power transmission mechanism 173 has: a rotatable internal gear 175; a planetary gear 179 revolving around the internal gear 175; a power transmission section 183 eccentrically arranged on the planetary gear 179; and a rotation inhibiting mechanism 185 for inhibiting rotation of the internal gear in normal times. Based on application of a load on the tool bit, rotation inhibition by the rotation inhibiting mechanism 185 is canceled, and the internal gear 175 is allowed to rotate a predetermined amount in a predetermined direction, to thereby change the momentum of the power transmission section in the major axial direction of the tool bit. Further the internal gear 175 is allowed to rotate in the predetermined direction but inhibited from rotating in a direction opposite to the predetermined direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
