<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a non-privileged user from viewing private information and to let a privileged user positively view it on an interactive display by using a view restrictor. <P>SOLUTION: A private information allocating part on a display surface can be determined by detecting the location and orientation of a view restrictor on the display surface. The private information allocating part is not visible to a non-privileged user. Then, the private information is displayed at the private information allocating part for a privileged user, and the view restrictor prevents a non-privileged viewer from viewing the private information. An interactive display detects removal of the view restrictor from the display surface, and interrupts the display of the private information. In another embodiment, the private information is obfuscated so that it can be viewed only by a privileged viewer through a view revealer that includes a color filter.
