PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an applicator which can hold sufficient amount of a coating agent such as paint and can coat a wide range of a surface to be coated by one time of holding operation and further which can uniformly apply the coating agent such as liquid paint in a film-shape onto an object to be applied having a smooth surface to be applied such as glass, light metal and a hard synthetic resin. SOLUTION: On the surface of a holding part 2 comprising lamination of woven and knitted goods or nonwoven fabric made of ultrafine fiber of 1 denier or less, an application part 3 comprising a textile or warp knitted goods made of ultrafine fiber of 0.3 denier or less is superposed. Further on the surface of the retaining part 2 comprising a foamed body of a polyvinyl alcohol base or a viscose base, the application part 3 comprising a textile or warp knitted goods made of ultrafine fiber of 0.3 denier or less is superposed and at the application part 3 superposed on the retaining part 2, wiping cloth is adhered at every predetermined interval with slackness to form a continuous loop 31.
