摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motive power transmission shaft for a steering device and its manufacturing method, easy in assembling, and capable of surely preventing looseness in the peripheral direction. <P>SOLUTION: This steering shaft 3 as the motive power transmission shaft has an inner shaft 17, a cylindrical outer shaft 16, a pair of both mutually fitting spline parts 24 and 27 arranged on the outer shaft 16 and the inner shaft 17, and a regulating member 30 including a plate-like main body part 31 extending in the shaft direction S of the outer shaft 16. The main body part 31 is provided with a wide part 33 interposed between both spline parts 24 and 27 and regulating play in the peripheral direction T between the outer shaft 16 and the inner shaft 17. The plate-like main body part 31 extends in the shaft direction, and the regulating member 30 can be easily incorporated between both spline parts 24 and 27. The wide part 33 is arranged in chipped tooth areas 26 and 29 of both spline parts 24 and 27 of the outer shaft 16 and the inner shaft 17, to secure an incorporation space. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
