<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line head which suppresses image quality degradation as a result of chromatic aberration of an optical system, and to provide an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: An organic EL element array 61 set facing a rear face of a refractive index distribution type rod lens array 65 in a housing 60, and an opaque cover 66 which shields the organic EL light emitting element array 61 in the housing from the rear face of the housing 60 are set at an image write means 23. A glass substrate 62 is optically sealed by a fixed leaf spring 67 in the housing 60. A wavelength filter 81 is formed at an end face of the refractive index distribution type rod lens array 65 side of the glass substrate 62.
