PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air supply device capable of securing a region for operating a treating tool in the abdominal cavity since a prescribed pressure in the abdominal cavity can be securely maintained by the supply of a carbon dioxide gas or the like by a pneumoperitoneum device during treatment. SOLUTION: The air supply system of this invention has a first tubular passage for supplying air to the abdominal cavity and a first opening/closing means for opening/closing the first tubular passage, and is equipped with a first air supply means for supplying air to the first tubular passage, a second air supply means which is connected to the first tubular passage and has a second opening/closing means, a detection means for detecting the abnormality of the first air supply means, and a control means for controlling the second air supply means so as to supply air to the first tubular passage by the second air supply means based on the detection result of the detection means.
