PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage to a heater by suppressing overpower applied to the heater during startup and ensure a quick temperature rise in a power control apparatus that performs quick heating control on the heater. SOLUTION: A current detecting section 27 detects a supply current fed to the heater 15 from an AC driving power supply 17 through a switching section 19. A voltage detecting section 29 detects a supply voltage applied to the heater 15 from the driving power supply 17. A resistance value calculating section 31 calculates the resistance value of the heater 15 in each AC half period based on the detected current value and the detected voltage value. A power calculating section 33 calculates power P applied to the heater 15 in each half period based on the detected voltage value and the calculated resistance value. An operation amount correction computing section 35 calculates the coefficientαof supply power P with respect to the reference power P' applied to the heater 15, computes an corrected operation amount MVa in each half period obtained by correcting an operation amount MV given to the heater 15 using the coefficientα, and switches on/off the switching section 19.
