The adapter has a speech mechanism (5) with a loudspeaker (6), fitted in a vehicle, a microphone (7) and a passenger compartment (PR). A vehicle (V) has an accessible electromechanical interface (3), a mobile telephone (12) and a radio interface (11) for the wireless data communication. The adapter interfaces to a GSM module for providing data communication. The radio interface exchanges data between the mobile telephone and the GSM module. The adapter is independently manageable and has a replaceable construction unit which with its electromechanical interface connects over the universal electromechanical interface with the vehicle.
