<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IP communication apparatus and a communication method using it by which hosts belonging to mutually different subnetworks on a single LAN segment are interlocked each other without a routing and connected to an internet smoothly at the same time. <P>SOLUTION: A proxy server is included in a plurality of subnetwork edge networks constituted of a plurality of client hosts consisting of an edge router, a plurality of LIP hosts and a plurality of GIP hosts, and consisting of a single edge LAN segment coupled to the edge router. The proxy server (i) is set in the single edge LAN segment and (ii) includes a DHCP which leads to a misunderstanding that the GIP hosts and the LIP hosts have the same subnetwork each other by responding to the DHCP message requested by the client hosts for the IP communication and by modulating an IP configuration information including a subnetwork mask in an approved message provided from the original DHCP server. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
