PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus which can confirm to a transmission destination that printing can be performed when receiving and printing image data in electronic mail. SOLUTION: When an image processing apparatus A receives electronic mail to which image data are attached from a server via Ethernet(R) NET 1, image data are stored in a storage device (1-15) as needed. A print processing control section (1-23) inquires an operating mode of print-out to a system control section (1-6) thereafter and when the operating mode is a print guarantee mode, reception confirm mail is immediately redirected to a transmitting side. When the operating mode is a non-print guarantee mode, on the other hand, printing is executed and reception confirmation mail is then redirected to the transmitting side.
