PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stretching machine for sheet-like material which can change steplessly the draw magnification of a sheet-like material such as an optical film in a TD direction and a MD direction individually and can plan large cost price reduction by simplifying its mechanism and controlling. SOLUTION: This stretching machine comprises arranging a plurality of supporting members 43, 73 which support a slide arm 3, which prepared a gripping apparatus 2 which grips the end of the sheet-like material 1 in the inside end of the arm movably in the TD direction of the sheet-like material, side by side in the MD direction of the sheet-like material at both sides of the sheet-like material, preparing a drive source which moves the plurality of supporting members in the MD direction, and preparing a TD adjustable rail 7 which makes the slide arm 3 to move in the TD direction by moving a plurality of the supporting members in the MD direction by this drive source.
