PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently and inexpensively producing polyfluorobenzoquinones by simple operation using an inexpensive raw material. SOLUTION: A polyfluorobenzene represented by general formula (1) äwherein, R<SP>1</SP>denotes each a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an OR<SP>2</SP>(wherein, R<SP>2</SP>denotes a 1-5C alkyl group)} is anodized in a mixed solvent of trifluoroacetic acid with a halogenated hydrocarbon.
