<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting diode package that contributes to achievement of uniform color tone and luminance of light. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting diode package includes a light emitting diode device provided within the package, and a sealing material that encloses the light emitting diode device, the material containing a plurality of scatterer-supported wavelength converters. The wavelength converter in the sealing material adheres on surfaces of scatterers or is dispersed in the scatterers.
