PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal printer which suppresses increase in power consumption, has a downsized circuit board, and is reduced in parts count. SOLUTION: The thermal printer has a thermal head 6, a constant current driving type motor for carrying paper, and a power source circuit 3 for impressing a voltage V1 regulated according to printing information to the thermal head 6 and the motor 8 in a printing state, and impressing a fixed voltage V2 for carrying to the motor 8 in a non-printing state.
