The element has a body (UC), connection ports (AE) with electrical inlets attached to it. The element body has connection ports and to it are soldered on ends of the inlets molten in a glass body. The element body melted into the glass body and its inlets have a common plastic coating (KB) covering a temperature-resistant polymer. The inlets with the plastic coating are provided as bare wires. The plastic coating has a liquid-close closed layer with only the ends of the inlets point away from the element body. The element body is a thermistor. An independent claim is included for a method.
