<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which the inside of each paper feeding device is properly illuminated. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has the plurality of paper feeding devices 4 and 5 which can be horizontally freely attached to or detached from paper feeding device accommodating sections 2 and 3, respectively, and also has illuminating devices 8 and 9 for illuminating the insides of the corresponding paper feeding devices. The image forming apparatus is provided with detecting means 6 and 7 for detecting the states and conditions of the paper feeding devices and paper stored in them. The insides of the paper feeding devices are illuminated by adjusting light quantity from the illuminating devices, taking account of the states and conditions of the drawn out paper feeding device and the states and conditions of the paper feeding device other than the one drawn out. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
