The frame has a set of superposed frame parts (5-7) assembled together in a detachable manner and forming a structure for reception of interchangeable decorative units (8). The part (6) assures the maintenance of the units (8) by direct or indirect cooperation with the part (5). Recesses (9) form openings at the level of a frontal side (4) of the frame and make the units (8) appear at the level of the side. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) an inner chimney having a composite frame (B) a process for manufacturing a composite frame.
