PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more effective dismantling method for a transformer, while ensuring safety of workers. SOLUTION: The dismantling method of a transformer having a cooling means, sets a cutoff means inside the transformer body, the cutoff means having a cutoff tool at its top with a diameter as long as, or longer than the caliber of a pipe that fixes the cooling means to the transformer body, applies the cutting part of the cutoff tool to a joint part of the pipe, and cuts or cuts off the joint part.
