PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stop control method for a stepping motor for driving the reel of a game machine which stops a rotor by a primary brake and a secondary brake following the primary brake, wherein time required for the primary brake is shortened. SOLUTION: In the stop control method for the stepping motor for driving the reel of the game machine which stops the rotor by the primary brake and the secondary brake following the primary brake, the primary brake excites a phase which is excited in the previous step before the step of starting a stop control to energize the rotor in the reversing direction.
