COLOR IMAGE PROCESSOR AND COLOR IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS PROVIDED WITH THE SAME, AND COLOR IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain image quality while avoiding a prescribed number of color signals or over from being overlapped at the same time so as to reduce occurrence of a defective image such as defective transfer and defective fixing.

SOLUTION: A binary ED processing section 107 converts the multi-value color signal of a multi-color image into a binary color signal by each color, an image characteristic determination processing section 108 decides the image characteristic of a target pixel on which a plurality of number or over of binary color signals are overlapped in the pixel arrangement of the converted binary color signal by each color, and when the target pixel is decided to be no image edge part or to be an achromatic color pixel, a rearrangement processing section 109 shifts the binary color signal of the target pixel to pixels around the target pixel, on which a prescribed number or below of the binary color signals are overlapped.
