PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner for an engine improved in the capture amount of dust. SOLUTION: A support frame 16 is formed with a recessed part 16a for holding and storing a pre-filter 15 in a close contact state, and a bottom part 19 is formed with a grating 23 formed with through holes 18. A fourth sealing rib 17 for supporting the pre-filter 15 in close contact is formed around the grating 23. A bottom face of the support frame 16 is formed with a space part for holding a paper filter 26 of a main filter 25, and a third sealing rib 22 for supporting a frame-like body 27 of the main filter 25 in close contact is formed around the space part. Sealing ribs for supporting the frame-like body 27 and the pre-filter 15 respectively in close contact are formed inside the bottom face of a case 7 and inside the upper face of a cover 6.
