PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor and an information processing method for realizing efficient contents transfer processing. SOLUTION: At the time of executing the transfer processing of storage contents from an information processor which stores and manages contents to external equipment, a checkout log including contents ID is acquired as contents information which has been already transferred to the external equipment, and any untransferred music is selected by comparing and collating the contents ID of checkout log with the contents ID of contents stored in the information processor acquired from a music management information storing part inside the information processor, and the selected music is transferred to the external equipment. Thus, it is unnecessary for a user to confirm or select any of transferred contents, and it is possible to realize efficient contents transfer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
