PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical modulator, an optical apparatus and a projector in which a fluid circulating member can be easily led. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal panel 441 as an optical modulator is composed of: a driving substrate 441C having a plurality of signal lines, a plurality of switching elements connected to the signal lines, and a plurality of pixel electrodes connected to the switching elements; a counter substrate 441D disposed as opposing to the driving substrate 441C and having a common electrode; and a flexible printed board 441E electrically connected to the plurality of signal lines and the common electrode and extending from between the driving substrate 441C and the counter substrate 441D. The flexible printed board 441E has an insertion hole 441E1 where a fluid circulating member to allow a cooling fluid to flow inside can be inserted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
