APPARATUS FOR REMOVING SEDIMENT IN WATER TREATMENT BASIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sediment removing apparatus with which dirty sand in a filtration basin can be removed automatically or semi-automatically and which is made compact and lightweight, is handled easily and has excellent working efficiency. SOLUTION: A second movable body 20 is arranged to be reciprocated on a first movable body 10 for traversing an upper end opening 1d of the filtration basin 1. A suction pipe 30 is connected to the second movable body 20 while interposing a suction pipe holding means 60 between them. A suction head 40 is connected to the lower end of the suction pipe 30 while interposing a sucking force generating unit 50 having an ejector structure between them. The dirty sand 4 is sucked through the suction head 40 together with water while holding the suction head 40 in a dirty sand layer of underwater filtering sand 3 and moving the suction head along the dirty sand layer. The sucked dirty sand is removed to a dirty sand recovering tank 32 through the suction pipe 30 and a discharge hose 31. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
