PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide articulated cars meeting both the straight running characteristic at a high speed and the steeply curved track running characteristic at a low speed. SOLUTION: The articulated cars are structured so that motors in two electromagnetic dampers are connected in series to a common converter circuit for converting into thermal energy, when running along a steep curved line at low speed. Yawing is generated between the cars A and B when the cars run along the track in this condition. At this time, the dampers 21 and 22 make compression (elongation) in the same amount, so that the motors rotate in the same direction and no current flows, and damping force is not generated. As a result, there is no resistance against yawing, and the yawing can be made freely. If meandering is generated, one of the dampers 21 and 22 is compressed and the other is elongated, so that the motors rotate in the opposite directions. When two motors rotate in the opposite direction to each other, current flows in the circuit, which is converted into a thermal energy to cause generation of a damping force.
