<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a fuel cell system mounted in a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: In the fuel cell system comprising a reformer 1 for producing reformed gas by reforming gas containing hydrogen, a combustor for starting 7 for combusting fuel and air supplied from the outside at the time of staring and supplying the combustion gas to the reformer, a fuel cell stack 4 for generating electricity using the reformed gas, and a discharging hydrogen combustor 5 for treating the hydrogen discharged from the fuel cell stack, the fuel cell system further comprises a recycle line 6 for connecting the discharging hydrogen combustor with the combustor for starting and supplying the combustion gas discharged from the discharging hydrogen combustor to the combustor for starting.
