PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite type damping industrial beam structure member which is light-weight and has high rigidity, sufficiently large strength and improved damping efficiency, together with the support of experimental data, and to provide an application format which is desirable as the damping industrial beam structural member. SOLUTION: In the industrial beam structure member formed by shaping a carbon fiber laminated material, consisting of multilayer structure as a prescribed cross-sectional shape, a viscoelastic plastic film and/or piezoelectric ceramic powder, is included at least in a part of respective layers of the carbon fiber laminated material, so that even if damping occurs, its vibration energy is efficiently absorbed by deforming thermoplastic plastic film, and damping characteristics can be enhanced.
