PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing cost for a catalyst regenerative particulate filter by minimizing an unnecessary oxidation catalyst.
SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device comprises a filter case 12 mounted on the way of an exhaust pipe 11 in which exhaust gas 9 from a diesel engine 1 (an internal combustion engine) is distributed, the flow-through oxidation catalyst 14 stored in the front stage of the filter case 12, and the catalyst regenerative particulate filter 13 stored in the rear stage thereof. The oxidation catalyst is partially supported only in a required range rearward from the front end of the particulate filter 13, and a non-support region B is secured in a remaining range rearward from the support region A of the oxidation catalyst where the oxidation catalyst is not supported.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
